Our role
MYCV helps you create and share CVs, digital certifications and cover letters. This policy describes the information used to provide these features. Use the Help form to ask a question or exercise your rights.
Information you provide
We store your account information and the details you add to documents: contact details, photos, career history, experience, skills, certifications and text. Avoid publishing sensitive information or other people’s details without permission. The Help form collects your name, email address and message to handle your request. Your message and its acknowledgment use our email queue; their content is removed after delivery or cancellation, and no later than seven days. Hashed IP and recipient identifiers limit abusive submissions. Messages in the support mailbox may be retained to follow up on your request.
Public links
An enabled document can be opened by anyone with its link. Recipients may share, print or keep a copy; we cannot remove those copies. Disabling a link prevents future access through MYCV.
Views and cookies
MYCV records CV views to show totals and, with PRO, dates, device types and approximate countries or cities. This data may include an IP address and visitor identifier. It does not reveal an anonymous visitor’s name. Cookies support login, language preferences and recognition of visits. Persistent login expires after 90 days without use. Location uses a local GeoIP database when available.
City and country autofill
When adding experience or education, MYCV can suggest your city and country using its local GeoIP database. If information is missing, your browser may request permission for your current position and contact BigDataCloud directly. This provider receives permitted coordinates and your IP address; without permission or an available position, it may estimate location from the IP. No CV content or account identifier is included in this request. MYCV does not store those precise coordinates: only the form city and country are saved when you save the entry. You can edit these fields.
Emails and preferences
Emails verify your address, reset your password, confirm security changes or provide payment information. Manage view alerts and optional communications in Notifications. Alerts for the same visitor and CV are separated by at least ten hours. Notification preferences are enabled by default at registration and can be changed.
Necessary services
PayPal handles payments. MYCV stores references, amounts and statuses for subscription management without receiving your card number. If you choose Google or Facebook login, that provider helps authenticate you. Emails use the configured mail service. If you request a letter from the writing assistant, information necessary for that request is sent to Groq; availability depends on the service. These providers have their own terms and may process information in other countries.
Security and access
Local passwords are stored as hashes. Login, ownership and permission checks limit access to private data and modifications. Authorised support can assist with your account; administrative settings and membership changes are logged. These measures reduce risks without guaranteeing absolute security. Use a unique password and sign out on shared devices.
Deletion, archiving and retention
Disabling or deleting a document makes its public link unavailable. A deleted CV can be restored from trash for 30 days; it then disappears from your account, but a database record may remain. A deleted letter is archived and is no longer publicly accessible. Deleting a certification removes its record and associated file. These actions therefore do not all permanently erase every piece of data. Support, security and payment records, and backups, may be retained for service needs or applicable obligations.
Your choices and rights
Edit your profile, control public links and adjust notifications from your account. Contact support to request access, correction, export or erasure of your account and archived data. We may verify your identity before acting and explain which information must be kept for an applicable obligation. MYCV uses the information described here to provide and secure the service, rather than selling CVs to advertisers.
Policy updates
This page may change when features or processing change. Its update date appears above. Check it again before publishing new information.
Advertising
Ads may appear on the blog and in FREE account dashboards. When advertising is enabled, providers such as Google AdSense may process technical data, including IP addresses and cookies, under their own privacy policies. PLUS and PRO dashboards do not load these advertising scripts.
